Hey Guys !

In the next days iam getting my new graphics card , a geforce 2 MX together with a total new system . And iam planning to use Debian again . So anyway i would have to install it all new again . At the moment iam running stable but i want to use Xfree86 4.x . The stable version only comes with Xfree 3.3.6 . So i would have to update it . Iam trying it now already with an other Debian system . But it doesnt seem to work . I added some testing sources to my sources.list and uncommented the stable ones . Then i issued " apt-get install task-x-window-system" and the same with a "core" in the end . But it always says that iam having already the actual ones . How can that be ? And how can i resolve this issue ?

David

Are you trying to get the stable packages? Let's see your /etc/apt/sources.list file and the output when you type
dpkg -l task-x-window-system-core

then i can try to help
