After a failed and unwanted (at least on this PC) installation of Red Hat, Im left with the LILO prompt on every boot up. Is there a safe way to remove this, without wrecking the data on my C: drive?

TuXick 04-19-1999, 07:05 AM two ways: in dos: fdisk /mbr in linux: lilo -u markpm 04-22-1999, 08:33 PM Thanks for the reply, I think Ill do it from Dos. Do I need to do it from a floppy or just from hd? And this definately won't ruin the data on my drive??? Eccentric 04-23-1999, 12:00 AM It won't. LILO doesn't run on the same partition as C:\. You probably have it installed in the master boot record. After you remove it, you'll default to Windows. justlinux.com
