I just installed aterm and the installation went without a glitch. But when I try to run it I get:
aterm: Can't open pseudo-tty
aterm: aborting.

What is wrong here? Why can't it open the pseudo-tty? For that matter, what is a pseudo-tty http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

/dev/pts/* are a pseudottys (and the p is silent!! wtp is with that? they should be called pah-sue-dot-ties)
anyway check to see if you /have/ dev/pts as a directory:
if (you do) {
run aterm as root see if that works
} else {
recompile your kernel with it or check the aterm/README to see if you can ./configure --without-pts or something
}

good luck
