I am having a great deal of problems with seting up ip masq on my system. here are the facts :

- my linux box is a Dell 410 with a 10/100 3com card on the mother board (eth0) and a pci d-link de-528ct 10 base-T/bnc (eth1)
- eth1 is connected to the external network which is a cable modem. this connection has been test and works properly
- eth0 is conneted to a 8 port 10/100 switch and severs dhcp at 192.168.1.1
- the only other compter currently on the network is my g3 powerbook running OS X
- the g3 can aquire an ip from the linux box (usualy 192.168.1.3) and it can ping 192.168.1.1 (the internal ip of the linux box)
- It CURRENTLY CAN'T PING THE EXTERNAL IP OF THE LINUX BOX
- can connect to the web sever on the linux box from the g3 and from outside networks but ssh dose not work for some reason
- I read the new beta IP Masq HOWTO on the "linux ip masqerade resouce" eb site and installed the simple rc.firewall ruleset it suppiled. i also unintalled the ipchains stuff that is the defalt in redhat 7.1 just as the HOWTO told me.
- when ip tables initialises it tells me that every thing is fine but it is not because i get no ip masq.

Please help
