I have an Epson 740. I paid waaaaaay more than $150, but it had just been introduced, today, I think they have fallen to that range. This printer has a lot of linux support, do a search epson linux and a lot of sites will come up. It actually produces better output, and is more flexibly configured under linux than it was using 'Doze. There are some special drivers available for it on the net, that work better than the RH6.2 drivers, although they are fine.

Lexmark is the first manufacturer to offer drivers and utilities for linux. Check out their web page it lists which printers are compatible.
