pppd

I can only access the internet with root .I created a user account and set permissions for basically everthing except key system stuff.I try to start with kde-internet and get this message "pppd not prprely installed.pppd binary must be installed with the suid bitset." OK how? I am very new at this so be simple.Thanks

chmod u+s /usr/sbin/pppd
