I installed the MySQL-3.23.39-i386.rpm and MySQL-client-3.23.39-i386.rpm RPM's on my RH 7.0 box. Everything installed fine and then it asked me to set my root password - so I did that, but now when I try to do anything with mySQL it'll say:
connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user: 'root@localhsot' (Using password: NO)'
My question to you is how do I get mySQL to use the password that I set? Thanks,
