I just installed RH 7.1 and noticed it didn't install linuxconf. I installed off the disk via rpm. My problem is I don't know where is installed at so I can run from x. I can run the text version from consule. I would really like to run the GUI version. I have looked and can't find the exec for linuxconf. Any suggestions?

in KDE you need to go to system>KDE control panel if I remeber right, there's a shortcut in there...gnome and others should be similar I'm thinkin...

I have looked on the x menus and have not found anything for linuxconf. I would add it to the menu but I don't know where the exec is and the name of the file I need to exec as the startup program. I uninstalled the rpm and reinstalled and still get the same results. Thanks in advance

I got at it before by using a terminal in Gnome and just typing in linuxconf. The linuxconf x-window should popup.

Try also installing the gnome gui for linuxconf.

It's called gnome-linuxconf and it's on Disk 2.

Oh, you may also need the gd-progs and gd rpms to get the gnome gui of linuxconf up and running.

I really think it's bizarre that linuxconf and all it's attendant rpm's and depndencies aren't install by default in RH7.1

Hope this helped
