I got this weird problem with linux mandrake 7.2. I was in KDE when it froze and tried alt-ctrl-backspace and alt-ctrl-del but neither worked, so i reseted the pc. next time i tried to boot up mandrake, it said hdaX had errors, so i went to do some checks, it then brought me to a console screen saying I could hit ctrl-d to log in as root and do maintenance work. Well I have no idea what i'm suppose to do as root. so i typed exit, and the pc went through some other checksums, and rebooted. But now I'm stuck in this looping of reboot. It can't seem to fix the hdaX error, and i don't know what to do as root. Anyone got any ideas. Thanks in advance.
