after several failed attemts i finally got mdk7.1 installed...used the auto probe it found and initialized the cd-rom. after the first disk it stopped working so i got none of the "extras" from the second iso image.
i have been unable to determine the soundcard maker no fcc# but it worked in dos and windows with the OPTI 929 setup as SB. in windows after installing that driver the cd-rom worked. actuall as i am sure you all know that was supposed to be harddrake instead of disk drake...ooops
ooops suppose i should mention it is a MKE(panasonic) cr-563-j. its proprietary interface. i don't care about the sound but would like to get the cd-rom working.
