Can receive but not send

I am running qpopper 3.1 on a redhat 6.2 box.
Currently I can receive email but I cannot send email. my smtp server is typed in right. I am using my ISP as my smtp server. From work in can both send and receive using the same addresses.
I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong is there anyone out there with any ideas of what this could be?

If you are using a SMTP server from a different ISP, it will reject your attempts because SMTP servers are set to not relay. Try running mail services on your own box.. ?

Do you mean use smtp.myservername.com instead of smtp.ISP.com as my smtp host? If so I have already tried that and it did not work

call your ISP and tell them your problem. Most likely they dont allow relaying and thats why you cant send. i use verio (i had the same prob) they gave me a new smtp something like "relay.veriocrap.net" something like that but i'm pretty sure it has to say relay
