Okay here is what I have:
it's a Pentium (I know boo Intel!) 122mhz with 64 megs of RAM and a 2.6GIG HD.
It seems to pick and choose when it wants to boot up. I have all the HD's (Primary Secondary etc) set up to auto detect on boot and well some times it picks it up and some times it does not. Usualy all I have to do is go into the BIOS and reset to defaults and voila it goes but now not even that works. Any one have any ideas?

I almost forgot,
I moved this HD from an older 486 DX 4 100
the drive has a software thing on it for the older BIOS so it can "see" the drive.
Could this be the problem if so would
fdisk /mbr work?

Oooppsss I'm trying to answer my own question :D

What is wrong with Intel? I use both Intel and AMD and I use both Linux and Windows. So what? It's my choice and most here do the same.

Anyways, no I don't think fdisk /mbr will get rid of the drive overlay software. It's probably on it's own hidden partition of which you will either need to delete using fdisk or use the software's uninstall program.

Either way of deleting it, you may end up having to resinstall any os you have on the drive.
