Okies, currently I put my ATI Xpert2000 back inside my computer (the one that I've never really gotten x to work with). I have Mandrake 7.1, and I figured since this has a newer version of X that it should see the vid card. Well, I go through x configurator and there's a small glitch on my install cd's - the card database won't display. Can somebody tell me which option to choose for the card database, as well as, are there any other quirks I should know?
*this may sound like a 'repost' - it is, no one ever answered my other one.

There's a nifty program called "setrage". http://www4.ncsu.edu/~distclai/rage128-howto.html. I used it to set up my Rage Fury Pro (I believe the Xpert 2000 is based on the same chip, Rage 128 Pro), and everything worked just fine. Even my scrollmouse. You might want to give that program a shot.
I don't know which version of XFree86 is Mandrake 7.1 ("newer" doesn't really tell me much), but setrage works only with XFree86 4.x.

Thanks. Will check that out.
It shouldn't make any difference, but the Xpert2000 is a Rage 128, not Rage 128 pro. If anything it makes the card easier to set up.
Just specify the r128 driver for your chipset.

cool. now, if this doesn't work (which I hope this does), does anyone know what the # is in the card list database for MDK7.1 ?
