winmodem

Firstly thanks to conman and gibby for their help with booting into the os they were right, now I have tried to configure my modem settings etc, through the gui I would like to do it this way for now if possible I'm using corel based on debain 2.2.16 and the problem appears to be a common one for new users I have a winmodem an LT V 90 data voice fax etc, can I use this component with Linux?. When I try and get linux to autodetect the modem it just says modem busy.

Go to the bios and set the COM and paralell ports to 'normal' instead of 'auto' or something.

Did u try using the winmodem drivers yet?
