I upgraded my RH 7.1 to 7.2 with the boxed set. Now my printer no longer works, get unable to initialize device, printing aborted - pretty close to that anyway, I'm at work and don't have the message with me. I tried to do a fresh install of 7.2 and still had the same problem so I went back and re-installed 7.1 and am printing again. Has anyone else had this problem. And while I'm here, it removed my zip icon, no big deal but it was annoying one I had my desktop set up. The fresh install of 7.2 does nothing for the desktop while 7.1 set's up the floppy my zip drive, etc. All this is in Gnome by the way.

I sort of have the same problem, except I could print with another machine using RH7 but not with this machine using RH7.1. With the new version, do you have the parport module compiled into your kernel?

The kernel is the stock one that came with 7.2 and should have the print module compiled in, but I didn't actually check, and it's on the same machine. Once I upgraded I could no longer print, so it's back to 7.1 until I figure this out. Well, I could print, but it just prints not able to initialize device on one line, or some such junk. If I try to print from something else, it prints another line of the same stuff, and never ejects the page. I'll get the exact message once I get home.
Thanks.

Looks like it might be a ghostscript problem. Will update once I figure it out in case anyone else runs into this problem.

Have a great day,

Nick

Well, if anyone had this problem, which should have been anyone running ghostscript, using the STP driver ob RH 7.2, Red Hat has posted the fixes on their FTP site. I'll update tonight and life wilkl be wonderful again.
