Can't find fixed font path

I resized my home partition so I could make an lfs partition. I figured I could mount the new home partition as root, create a new pauser, and all would be okay. To my dismay, when I booted up and kdm was supposed to come up but XFRee86 failed with Can't find fixed font path unix:/1. Please help 'cause I'm writing this from links and it's annoying me.

I don't have an answer, but I had something similar happen on RH6.2 when I was trying to uninstall the KDE 1.x RPMs that came with the distro. Really, really annoying.
