I'm trying to install Eterm on my RH7 box, but I get some strange effects.

Everytime when I start Eterm, its window looks awfull - only displaying funny and wrong colors.

If I try to set a background pix with Esetroot, my whole desktop gets the same awfull look like the Eterm window.

I _think_ there is something wrong with the configuration of my x-server, because if I try to open one of eterms background pix in gimp it tells me: "Image resolution is out of bounds, using default instead".

But I dont know what this error-message means - nor what I have to reconfigure to get it working http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif

Please help me!

PS:
I'm using blackbox as WM, but when trying under Gnome or Ice I get the same strange effects...
My display is set to 1024/768/16.

Well, what resolution and screen colors are you running?

I don't think that the resolution matters as much as the number of colors... 16-bit color is a good median between good color and good memory usage...
