I have tried reinstalled my windows 98 3 times and mandrake 8 about 5 time and still...no hope\
---------------------------------------

I got the iso version of mandrake and then I burned it to a cd...I partitioned my hard drive(windows 98 on and mandrake on other containing about 2GB of space)
After finishing the partitioning using mandrake partition software on the boot, it gives me some error of loading a file (that I cannot remember now)

In the installation readme file, it said that "
if you want to install mandrake of a partition then you need put all of the files in the mandrake directory including the files in 'image/' folder"

I dont what it means like do I just make another folder and copy the files to that folder or do just put all the files from all the folder in one folder and (then I have just one folder with all the images and other files in it)
OR
is there any other method to do that?

I tried to extract all the files from the "image" folder to the "mandrake" folder and then I extracted all the other folders and files to the "mandrake" folder, but when I run the setup, it gives me an error message saying that "it look like that the cd in not a linux mandrake 8.0 installation cd"

Please help me because I have spent 24 hours on this installation and still cannot get that working!

It sounds to me like you have a hard-drive boot image, instead of a cd boot image ( setup seems to be looking for files on you r hard drive partition, instead of the CD ). Why not just splash out £5 or so and get a pre-burned ISO from crazypenguin or 123 ? If you are in the UK, I could send you a copy.

Please don't crosspost as it's a rule on this site and also specified in the Linuxnewbie faq's.
