i have a 40G harddisk and i installed win98 (8G) in the primary partition. The remaining 32G i partitioned into extended using system commander 2k.
i used 15G to install win2k. The remaining 17G i want to install cle0.9. I have partitioned the partition as linux native (16G), linux swap (250M) with commander again.
But when i finished install the linux, i got the 1024 cylinder error and the commander menu didn't find the linux boot option (i have installed lilo in the first sector of the boot record not the MBR).
Any hints for me?
thanks! :(

You either need to upgrade lilo to version ?? > 21.5 that supports booting past the 1024 cylinder or create a small /boot partition below the 1024 cylinder.

Use SC to resize the Win98 Primary partition by 30MB and then create a '/boot' primary partition at the beginning of the drive. Next reinstall Linux and all should work. You could also resize the Win98 partition and create /boot after the 98 partition as long as it is below the 1024 cylinder.

I've got a 20gb (win98 with 15GB primary) and then a 256mb swap and the rest linux. Rhat 7.1's lilo works just fine that way, and I'm waaaay past 1024. Just get a newer version of lilo/grub/whatever bootloader.
