I'm trying to boot to a hal91 floppy and get a "crc error". The same when I boot to a debian rescue disk.. Can anyone explain this?

Can anyone explain this?</STRONG> CRC stands for cross reference checksum, basically it's a means to ensure that the data transferred from media to memory is what is was meant to be in the first place. If you get CRC errors on different floppy disks, I can only suspect that your floppy drive (or the connected data cable) is broken. You might try to read the disks on another PC. If you can read them there, you'll probably need to get a new floppy drive. justlinux.com
