http://ftp.planetmirror.com/pub/slackware/slackware-8.0/iso/
At the above Slack8 mirror and on the identicle FTP, the install.iso is about 649MB. On all the other sites I've seen it's about 639MB, including the official Slack ftp. All of the servers I've been to have been too slow to d/l from. Has anybody tried this planetmirror ISO? Is it in the wrong folder or is it just a custom ISO?

well, check the MD5 sum against what the official server says and if it matches ... you're okay :)
I'm betting it's not the right file or not the official ISO though

slackware 8.0??? I tried a google search, the only references on the first page were in other languages. I know we just jumped from 4.0 to 7.0, then 7.1 - I believe that 7.2 is the next step. 8.0 is mdk. This is definitly odd.

No worries, I got my ISO (the right size) from a sunsite server. Now my problem is I need the boot disks, and the fast server only had ISOs! So close, yet so far! Does the ISO contain the bootdisks? Here's hoping.

if it were going to be an upgrade that mainly contained bug fixes and minor features, it would have been called slackware 7.2
Because there are TONS of upgrades (x4.1, 2.4 kernel support, etc...), it is 8.0 and has nothing to do with mandrake :)

I will bet that once you extract your ISO to CD you will find Boot images in one of the folders

Hmm...im Dling it right now from LinuxISO.org. Curious, this one says it is only 200+ meg. Maybe it is an older version? Possibly?
