I just survived my first Linux installation. It's Red Hat V7. I don't think I paid enough attention at the point where it was detecting my video card and the resolution was set so hight that I got all these Liliputian icons on the desktop and taskbar. I think I'm supposed to run Xconfigurator from the # or terminal window but it says file not found. Is there a trick I'm missing. Better yet, can it be done from Gnome. I logged in as root; still didn't work.

XF86Setup should bring you to the config script

What desktop are you using? There might be a way to do it from whatever configuration programs your desktop/window manager uses.
