I used fdisk to dual boot win98 and linux but now win98 is gonna be gone, but it still gives me a menu to pick which os I wanna boot into. How do I get rid of this so it automatically boots into linux without having to select F1 and pressing enter?

Excuse me, but I think you are a bit confused..
You can't use fdisk to boot your computer, that's a partitioning program!
So please, how do you boot?
Which menu, Windows or LILO or what?
Or do I misunderstand you? Just be a little more precise and you'll get a good solution!

I get a black screen with what os I want boot into displayed in the top left corner.F1 is one os and F2 would be another if I wanna dual boot.Under the os types it says Default: F1 or F2.I wanna get rid of this somehow since I don't want to dual boot 2 os and run just linux.

I'm not familiar with that bootloader/manager. Did you install it yourself? Where did you get it from?

Try booting from a dos/windows bootdisk, run fdisk and see what partitions you have especially the first partition. See if the first partition is around 10MB and set as the active partition.

Post what you find.

Yeah I should have realized what you were asking. 'fdisk /mbr' is one of the most popular topics here at LNO.
