I had a problem compiling the 2.4.12 kernel. Something about ieee1284, don't remember the error exactly. Anyone else getting something like this? Just wondering, thx.

I don't bother since I don't have firewire. That could be causing the problem if you are. # # IEEE 1394 (FireWire) support (EXPERIMENTAL) # # CONFIG_IEEE1394 is not set bdg1983 10-12-2001, 01:23 PM I'm just compiling the 2.4.12 kernel now and noticed I posted about the wrong option. Your talking about PARPORT_1284 the IEEE 1284 transfer modes. That's actually fairly new in the kernel as I think it was added in the 2.4.10 kernel. Try disabling it and compiling the kernel again. # # Parallel port support # CONFIG_PARPORT=m CONFIG_PARPORT_PC=m CONFIG_PARPORT_PC_CML1=m # CONFIG_PARPORT_SERIAL is not set CONFIG_PARPORT_PC_FIFO=y CONFIG_PARPORT_PC_SUPERIO=y # CONFIG_PARPORT_AMIGA is not set # CONFIG_PARPORT_MFC3 is not set # CONFIG_PARPORT_ATARI is not set # CONFIG_PARPORT_SUNBPP is not set # CONFIG_PARPORT_OTHER is not set CONFIG_PARPORT_1284=n Sorry I got that wrong by thinking you were refering to firewire. mcmanus69 10-12-2001, 03:46 PM ah, yes, I think that wuz it. I will try it a bit later tonite and let you know how it goes. How come they deleted ur account again?? Are they not gonna let you have any of your old ones back? What was their response about it? My guess for your 'lottery' is 1460. =) [ 12 October 2001: Message edited by: mcmanus69 ] bdg1983 10-12-2001, 03:53 PM They did not delete my account. It just gets corrupted whenever LNO goes down. Always seems to affect mine. What was their response about it? Nothing as usual. Internet.com has never ever responded to any of my email requests to have my accounts fixed. They don't even acknowledge the fact that I have emailed them requesting assistance. Only Sensei did and he fixed me right up when it happened to my first account. No Sensei, no help. justlinux.com
