I have a pc running linux Red hat 7.0 as a firewall. Normally I would telnet into it from my normal pc to play around with settings. Well, anyway, it suddenly won't acknowledge telnets, and when I flip on the onitor, it shows some sort of segmentation-looking fault, and also won't let me log into a session on the actual machine. I've tried the old control-alt-delete method to reboot, and it didn't do anything. My next idea is to jst flip that bad boy off and flip it back on. Not great for the filesystem, but I don't seem to have much choice. Anyone have a better idea on this one?

by the way, interestingly enough, it appears that the firewall still functions as a firewall, in that both my pc and my wife's pc are still able to surf the net. information has to be going through the firewall, it's the only physically possible way for it to happen.
