I'm trying to mount an nfs volume from a LinuxPPC box to my RH 7.1 box via tcp/ip. When I use the mount command on the RH box it waits a bit and then gives an RPC timed out message. I can see in /log/messages on the PPC box that that the mount request was authenticated. It looks like it's not getting passed to nfsd. What do I do?

I'm having the same problem and I scratching my head to figure this one out. I built a new Work station with RH7.1, The old machine had RH7.1 but thourgh an upgrade. The new machine is a clean build. All other setup look the same, smae machine name, ip, users etc. But keep getting RPC time out error. I was wondering if you fix teh problem?

I do have it working, but am no longer running RH--Slackware now. I don't remember exactly what the problem was, so I can't be of much help.

I'm new to Linux and tried RedHat and Mandrake before sticking with Slackware--everything seems much clearer to me without all the gui widgets.
