Operating System Selection - Mandrake8.0

I have a dual (well tripple really) boot machine, mandrkae 8, and win2k.
it boots fine (in both /3) however,
the first screen i see is a mandrake screen, giving me 3 seconds to choose
linux
windows
windows2
floppy
failsafe

how do i get to edit/change/view this screen?
ie time wait, or default choice, or choices in genral..?

su to become root and then edit your /etc/lilo.conf file, there you can edit your timeout like where is says

timeout=50

and you can change the names of your other OS's but don't put a space use _ those like

label=Windows_2000

and you can change your default os by change the default= string

after your done editing your lilo.conf file then do

/sbin/lilo

that will update lilo and also it will make sure there are no errors. and that's it! :)

You're welcome :) Oh and if your only just running windows 2000 and linux but it has windows and windows2 you might just have 2 windows partitions and if that's the case you can delete the windows2 also. and there is a easier way with mandrake 8 just open the mandrake control center if thats what your using and edit it through the boot options but it's good to know the other way to
