When I try and install some software, even compile my kernel wich is 2.2.16 on a RH7 machine, I get this error message that says: 'warning: Pasting would not give a valid preprocessing token', and I cant complete the compile. What does this error message mean?? I keep getting it!!!! I've tried re-compiling kernel 2.2.16, upgrading to 2.2.17 and 2.4.3 but I keep getting that damn error!!! How do I avoid it??

I've never seen that error posted here before, so it's off to Google of course to have a search for 'Pasting would not give a valid preprocessing token'.

From what I gathered from Google, it has something to do with glibc or the headers. You may find something more related to your particular problem.

Thanx for the help. I will try and upgrade my glibc.
