I am the greenest Newbie that ever was and I decided today that I would "attempt" to download the new Netscape 6.0 browser.
I am using Storm Linux.

I used the "custom install" and all seemed to go well until the time came to actually install it.

I believe it installed into my '/usr/local/netscape' directory but when I type in './netscape' to activate it, as per the instructions, all I get is the following and no Netscape 6.0 browser.

./run-mozilla.sh ./mozilla-bin
MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=.
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.:./Cool
LIBPATH=.:./Cool
SHLIB_PATH=.:./Cool
XPCS_HOME=./Cool
MOZ_PROGRAM=./mozilla-bin
MOZ_TOOLKIT=
moz-debug=0
moz_debugger=
./run-mozilla.sh: line 29: 31632 Segmentation fault $prog ${1+"$@"}

Can anyone please shed some light on this for me.....THANKS!!!!!!!

You installed it correctly, however, this version is very faulty, and for you, it unfortunately doesn't work. I would suggest going to mozilla.org and getting the M18 release, it's quite stable and is basically the same as Netscape 6. Just one little quiestion, you did have X running when you typed in ./netscape, right?

Yes, I did have X running.

But I will get M18 release instead.

THANKS!!!

Also, if you have used mozilla already, then you have a ~/.mozilla file in your /home/whoeveryouare directory. Delete that before running the new version of either netscape 6 or Mozilla18. Otherwise it will segfault.
