Cannot overwrite

What would cause me not to be able to overwrite files using ftp all of the sudden. I log in as the proper login and password. I can post new files but I cannot overwrite existing ones. My files have full permission owned by me and are in the group users.
I am running redhat 6.0. I am using cute FTP and Dreamweaver to ftp files.
