Check out opensource.creative.com. Go down to the bottom of the page where it says Latest source snapshots. Downoad the emu10k1-20001125.tar.gz . Then gunzip and untar it and compile what you get. It worked for me on Mandrake 7.1 awhile back. They should also have some help on the page somewhere...
Hope that helps some.

Me neither for a long time, then I found out about it here, so I thought I would pass the torch, so to speak.

ah
some problems it seems, the sound module has already been compiled, and i cant compile another one according to the make output, error on the end of it and all that.
a re-install would be in order or not?

Bad news is I'm not sure. Good news is I'm going home soon. That means I'll have a little time to look into, maybe. Depends on the wife. In the meantime, look here (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/soundcards/sblive.html). Let me know how it goes tomorrow.

My SbLive works. But only after I disabled the Plug'n'Play OS=yes option in the Bios.
RH7 will automatically detect my SBlive.

if that is the case then why did 6.2 pick it up during install?
sounds like a bug to me
