Quick Introduction: My name's Jen and I'm a newbie...started with Mandrake 8.0 about three weeks ago...tried SuSE 7.2 a week later and was hooked. Having loads of fun working it all out.

Admission: Couldn't have done it without this forum!

Got everything up and running, including Samba and VMWare...tweaked here, played there...my Windows ME partition has been relegated to a Diablo II partition...I plan to reformat the entire system to set up the partitions in a way that makes more sense...which leads to a...

Question: This is probably a bit silly, but I've hunted all over for the answer...to save my Konqueror bookmarks, which files do I need to back up and do I just replace the files once I've reinstalled everything?

I don't use Konqueror myself, but you might try looking in your home directory for a .konqueror/ directory, which might have bookmarks in it.

If not, try looking in .kde/ it could be there too.

The konqueror bookmarks are stored here:
$HOME/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/bookmarks.xml

You might also want to save the faviconrc file if you want all those mini icons for each bookmark saved also.

I haven't actually tried it but you should just overwrite those two files on a new install with the backups to restore your bookmarks.
