I'm stuck at the commandline with Mandrake 7.1 at installation it froze up when it was time to configure x. When i reboot the computer it goes all the way but i can't start x, what command do i need to configure x ? Xconfiguration doesn't work.

xf86config or maybe XF86Setup but there is a good chance that the appropriate X-server was not installed depending on when the system froze. You can try using mc at the commandline to quickly navigate through the file system to /mnt/cdrom and manually install the .rpm for the X-server that you need.Do that as root.

It's xfree86 4.0.1 right? Not sure with it, but it might be XFree86-Config
