I have a C-Media variant sound system as a part of my motherboard, and I get sound JUST by running `modprobe cmpci`.
This is all well-and-good, but that terminal bell (buzzer, beep, whatever) is always sent to BOTH the tower speaker, AND to the audio system.
As a result, I get a screeching BEEP! conducted through my desktop speakers whenever the buzzer sounds. A good way to hear it is to type g<tab><tab>, or BKSPC. Your mileage may vary if you use an xterm of some kind.
It's bad enough to have it. I'd be grateful if somebody could tell me either:
1. How to disable it altogether
2. Prevent it from going out my desktop speakers.
Thanks all!
