RE: Networking problems??!!!!

Hi,

I am running into some problems of setting up a network and Apache server.
I have set everything to either default or automactic detection when I was installing Redhat 7.1 . However, I cannot establish any connection with other computers in the school network(either running in Linux or windows ) by means of FTP or telnet. Even with apache server, I can only view the webpage under loopback function.

Anyone got any suggestions how can I resolve this problem? Thanks and have a nice day!

Are you using ethernet to access the internet? As for apache, i would suggest installing from source, its more reliable and very easy! Im thinking about Samba when you mentioned accessing windows systems over the network. Im not very sure about this, so maybe someone with more experience accesing window machines from linux can help.
