Hi,
I am having problems with my ethernet card. Whenever I leave my computer for 15 minutes, I come back and my ethernet card is disconnected so that I can't surf the net or download files. I always have to restart the connection using the network monitor supplied with Mandrake 8.0. It's somewhat of a drag because I can't just sit down and browse. Is there any way I could get this NIC to work 24/7 instead of having to reconnect to it all the time?
At first I thought it could have been the WOL feature on the card, but it turned out that it wasn't. I removed the cable and it did nothing. I know it isn't DHCP because that isn't enabled on my router. I use a static IP address for my machine. People have already suggested these things to me and they haven't worked.
Here are my netowrk specs.:
Using Linksys LNE100TX NIC
Behind Linksys BEFSR41 router (that is the 4-port model).
Using RoadRunner cable.
And I am using Mandrake 8.0 as my distro with KDE 2.1.
If anybody can help, please do so! I am a returning Linux user, so please go easy on me! Thanks! :)
