Cannot install

I am have major problems with my install. Could someone answer a basic question I have. I believe my problem could be hardware related. I am running on a P166, with 8 mb ram, and 225 mb hard drive. Could this cause an early termination in setup? The error msg is Compressed image file found, or something like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

if you are trying to install more than a tiny, bare, minimum install 225 mb is pushing it.

what distro are you trying to install?
did you select 'custom' and unselect as much as possible?
