Ohboy ...

*sighs* and looks down at the box... yup ... there the joystick, there's the sb with gameport .. , checks /proc/misc ... nope... not there ... ahhh... found it ... now I have to experiment ...

I set out to do this some time ago ... I am running the 2.4.3 kernel, and have a SB128 card ...with game port ... I built all the input drivers and all the damn joysticks .. I'll let ya know how it goes...

Its just a 4-button gamepad? Shouldnt it be very easy to set it up? What do I try? Doesnt the kernel have built in support for joysticks?

Supposedly LM8.0's kernel has built-in joystick support. But so far I've tried three gamepads - a Gravis PC Gamepad, a Gamepad Pro, and a USB Eliminator Gamepad Pro. None of them have worked. I tried both of my gameports - the one on my SB Live and the one on my ISA ES1869 (16bit soundcard).
