Hey,

I've used SWAT before...on this very same system that I'm typing from. Kinda like it. However, for some weird-*** reason, I can't call it up in my browser now...

I use the following: 'http://localhost:901/'

Now, I'm connecting to the internet via a proxy/gateway. I've excluded the 'localhost' domain from the Proxy settings in Netscape 4.78. However, when I try starting SWAT, I get a message saying: "Network Error...connection reset by peer". When I disable the whole proxy thing altogether, it still doesn't work.

This is driving me nuts...is there anything I'm not thinking of?

I have Samba running, and 'testparm' runs an OK from the console.

Thanks in advance for any clues.

swat runs from inetd or xinetd, so check it is being started

or use nmap to do a portscan of localhost to identify if swat is on 901

or just edit smb.conf

Cheers...I'll try those out, and I'm sure you've got it.

My brain was mush yesterday. Too busy spinning plates for the circus.
