Hello.
I am trying to configure an installation of Samba Server 2.0.5 a to join a Windows NT Server Domain. I shut down all Samba Daemons, and then issue the command:
smbpasswd -j DOMAIN -r IPADDR
I get the following error:
----------
modify_trust_password: machine IPADDR rejected the session setup. Error was: code 131.
change_trust_account_password: Failed to change password for domain in DOMAIN
Unable to join domain DOMAIN.
---------
Of course the word DOMAIN is the actual name of the domain, and IPADDR is the ip address of the NT4 domain server.
My question is: does anyone know where I can cross-reference this mysterious error 131? Has anyone witnessed this error before? Do I need to upgrade SAMBA to 2.2.x in order to join a domain (i doubt it)?
Any input is appreciated as always. ;)
