Linux boot disks

I have a little problem. I am just starting with linux, so i think i'm going to use Mandrake 8.0. The thing is, i only have access to my old compaq (pile of crap) computer to try the os out on. And to make things worse, the CD rom is totally broken and all i have is the floppy drive. Anyone know if i can set up a dual boot environment with Mandrake (or any other good distro) using just a floppy??
i am very stuck and need help!

If you have a fast connection you can do an ftp install accross the internet.
