Can anyone give me any pointers on creating a PPP script? I have a LT Winmodem that now dials thanks to Lucent finally releasing some source.

KPPP should create you a script, if you are running slackware, pppsetup may be another choice http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Unfortunately lucent did NOT release source for their winmodems. The only thing available is an alpha-version of a binary module. Worse yet, it wasn't even released by lucent - some insider released it without lucent's express permission. Still, it does work I know but it has no support, is not directly compatible with many kernels and there may never be another update - although with linux growing I think eventually they will... just when is another question.

Sorry I didn't answer your question. I recommend using kppp from kde - a very simple way.

The LFS howto used to have good directions on setting up PPP, don't know if it is still in the most recent version tho.

Sources are available and the linmodem community has made support available. Sean Walbran and Marvin Stod~(i cant remember or pronouce his name) and Mark (i cant remember his name) have helped many people out as the new sources will work in 2.4 tests.
