Thanks unixgal 01-12-2001, 06:22 PM Very few winmodems (read: one out of a gazillion) are supported by most versions of Linux. I recommened going out and getting a US Robotics modem instead, those are known to work very well with Linux. jakieboy 01-12-2001, 06:31 PM Check http://www.linmodems.org before buying anything. I don't know your modem, but I've heard that some 56k6 pci winmodems with a Lucent chipset MIGHT work, the Rockwell chipset ones however don't. However, any external modem works, si if you buy another modem, that might be a good idea. ------------------ Everyone who has seen the windows sourcecode is now dead....from laughing justlinux.com
