Here's my prob.I would like to install Slack but when I try to partition with cfdisk I get an error:"Opened disk read-only-you have no permission to write"Have Win2K on C: would it or Boot Magic,Partition Magic or Norton System Works cause this?Installed SuSE and Libranet on this drive just fine.So what's up with this?Need an assist here.Thanks

possibly, i dont use the command line partitioner. Download a copy of partition magic version 6 from astalavista.box.sk.

Use that to partition your system then try to go through the install, it makes it a lot easier.

If you dont have an OS on your computer, and your HD is blank, just destroy all partitions in FDISK, and re-do them.

Well I tried that cuz I have Part. Mag. 6 but Slack will not install for me unless it makes its own partitions.The only distro I know that is this picky.Thinks ready made partitions are in use I guess.
