A quick survey of the Web suggests no. I fired it up to get some updates. I got cold feet when it wanted to update my kernel. So I searched RH’s forums and Google found some very scary stuff. Some people just lost the use of a few devices and others failed to boot again. What is the secret to a safe kernel update? I have read quite a few “How to’s” on the subject but all seem VERY risky. Do I really need to update? My Linux box works just fine. If it’s not broke don’t fix it. Right?

I have used it twice. No problems so far. However,I was unaware that other people have had problems with it.Now it makes me a little gun shy.

my suggestion is to go with ximian with it's awesome red carpet stuff... it takes care of all updates and is more stable (if you're using gnome)

Everything but the kernel update is great with update....easy and fast. DO NOT USE IT TO UPDATE THE KERNEL, quicker than apt-get download_and_install_new_patches
