I installed RH7 without a glitch on a new AOpen AX3S all-in-one boards. It is 815 board with sound, video and Intel LAN integrated. Everything works but the NIC.
During boot I get a message about some problem with "insmod" or whatever and it tells me that there may be I/O or IRQ problem.
I disabled PNP, sound and USB in CMOS but that did not help. I guess perhaps there is a support issue for this NIC.
Waiting for suggestions. Thanks

Oh and one more thing.
I now the LAN works ok as it shows up OK in Win2000 (I am dual booting)

Have you tried Intel or AOpen for drivers or suggestions for the 100/Pro in Linux?
Try that and post back...
Error messages about IRQ or I/O? Could you post them here?

Just thought I'd share that I have the exact same NIC and it's giving me an error saying that it could not assign IP addresses or setup DHCP in SuSE 7.1. And it also recognizes the NIC as an Intel ExpressPro or something I've never heard of.

thanks mdwatts. I totally forgot to use my brain. It is such an obvious thing to go to AOpen website and look for info there.
Anyway, it turned out that the driver file was e100.o while I was trying to use ee100.o

Your welcome. Glad you got it going.
Sometimes we forget that there are other resources. Especially the website for the particular hardware you are having the problem with. Since more and more companies are starting to provide drivers and support for Linux, starting at their site would be my first choice.
Enjoy your new PC and Linux.
