Current system state: Booting...

I just installed Mandrake 7.2 from CD to a Compaq Deskpro 2000 PC. I took the full install option 1000KB and it finished OK. I rebooted the PC and I get to the Subject: and it sits there. The HD light is doing something but how long should this take to boot. The PC is a Pentium Pro 200.

What exactly do you mean by Subject?
is it displaying "Lilo:" or "(xxxx@xxx)Login"

Probably he meant the topic 'Current system state: Booting...'

Could you post as much information as you can so we can try to help. Other error messages etc. Try changing to some of your other virtual consoles to see other messages. ALT-F1 to F6 will bring up the consoles.
