Need some help with Corel Linux OS!

Hi everybody,
I hope someone can help me with my problem. i just installed corel linux OS 2nd edition. everything was running good and perfect, until i wanted to use the modem. it cannot recognize it. The modem is installed on COM3. so i put the settings as it should, but i get "Modem doesn't respond", but when i put it on COM4 it says "Modem bussy"! http://discussions.linuxplanet.com/confused.gif

I am trying to decide on a linux distro for my desktop.

Why did you go with Corel? Did you evaluate others? Does Corel run on the 2.4 kernel ?
