I'd like to remove windows altogether from my computer and run linux. I'm just afraid that I'll mangle my linux install and have to start over (which I guess isn't that big of a deal). Regardless what is the best way to go about doing this? Ie, would rm -rf /mnt/windows work? As for my second question, I have 2 hd (one 10gig and one 20gig) so am wondering about running 2 different flavors of linux, one on each drive. Are there conflicts that I should be wary of in doing things this way?
thanks
Forgot...Mandrake 8 is currently on the same computer as windows 2k, but seperate drives. Windows is on /dev/hda, Drake on /dev/hdb. Redhat is the other OS I'd like to install.
thanks again

This is very complicated, so pay attention:
1. Delete your Windows partition(s) in fdisk.
Done.

And yes, you can run Redhat and Mandrake on the system. It's kinda silly, though. They're close to identical, I don't see much justification on wasting all that disk space on maintaining two Linux distributions on the same machine.

Just use fdisk to delete the windows partition.
Install as many Linux systems as you like for the experience. I've read here that Lilo can support booting something like 16 or 18 operating systems. All could be Linux.

Rip out the hard drive and burn it....er...sorry, didn't see the part about safely ;)
Heh, thanks. Guess I was trying to overcomplicated things.
