I installed Mandrake 7.2 and have to say that it is the best distro that I've had in this machine since I started with Red Hat 5.
However... I installed it using the Reicher File System which works beautifully... except... I can't read all my floppies that I backed up my info on in Ext 2. Anybody know if this is normal... and if there is a workaround besides going to another machine and copying everything into plain text and sending it inline. Or are my floppies screwed up somehow? Or do I have to reinstall the OS in Ext 2?
I might add that I tried RH 7 and all it did is screw up my really nicely custom install of RH 6.2. The exec. that powered that release should look for a day job coring kumquats. It's like they took a 6.2 release and filled it full of bugs just to keep us on our toes. Garbage.
Anybody have any info I'd appreciate it :-)

Hello:

Yes, reiserfs is grand. That said, it's not the same format as ext2, thus the floppy reading troubles.

There is a way to accomplis wht you wish to do, but I don't recall it at the moment. Try a search on file conversion, ext2/reiserfs

I save files as text to a different box on my LAN, thus have not encountered this problem.

Re: RH 7.0 I was involved with it from the start as a freelance tech writer. It got worse and worse with each beta. I bailed out a bit after 6.9 as I and a few others felt it was a disaster. Still is, IMHO.
